Jibanananda Das is popular Bengali poet, writer and novelist. He introduced modern bangla poem after Rabindronath Tagore. He was born in17 February 1899 in Barisal and died 22 October 1954 by a tram accident in Kolkata.  His father was Satyananda Das, was a schoolteacher and  mother was Kusumkumari Das also wrote poetry.
